Landing on Skomer Island
A 15 minute boat ride takes you to enjoy one of the most incredible wildlife experiences in Britain. Skomer Island has something to offer everyone. Surrounded by shaded inlets, off shore rocks and sheltered coves, Skomer is an island full of mystery, discovery, wildlife and adventure…it’s a unique island just waiting to be explored!
No matter what time of year you visit, the island’s flora and fauna will leave you breathless with excitement and wishing you could stay for longer. Keep an eye out for the famous Skomer Vole, thousands of Rabbits and our resident birds of prey – Buzzards, Peregrine Falcons and Owls. Wildlife enthusiasts, photographers, walkers, families and visitors who are looking to find a sense of solitude will instantly fall in love with Skomer!

The island is open 1 April (or Good Friday, whichever is earlier) to 30 September and is closed Mondays.
Landing trips depart from Martin’s Haven daily at 10am, 11am and 12 noon (2nd April – 30th September 2019)
No Landings on Mondays (except Whitsun Bank Holiday when the usual Tuesday-Sunday timetable will apply) – extra cruises will be available on these days.
Additional boats for landings and cruises may also be provided at busy times.
Return boats start from 3pm, then every half an hour after that.
Your return boat time will be allocated according to your outward journey. Your skipper will give you your return boat time upon departing.

Please buy your tickets from Lockley Lodge, on the hill from the car park down to the boat. Tickets can only be bought on the day and are issued on a first come first served basis.
The numbers of visitors to the island is carefully managed to prevent erosion and to control the impact of people on the wildlife. Landing tickets are strictly limited to a maximum of 250 per day.
Pre-booking of tickets is not permitted so to avoid disappointment it is recommended you arrive as early as you can to queue for tickets. Tickets are offered on a first come first served basis, and during peak times can sell out within the first hour/hours of Lockley Lodge opening.
Day trips to Skomer are oversubscribed during the peak season (May to Mid-July) and some people will not get onto the island. On the busiest days extra guided island cruises are operated and visitors have the option to see the island and the wildlife from the boat. Click here to find out more about the island cruises.

Skomer Landings – Sailings & Dates 2019
Skomer Landings will operate from the 2nd April to 30th September.
Monday: No sailings (except Whitsun Bank Holiday)
Tuesday to Sunday: Depart 10am, 11am, 12 noon, returning from 3pm.
During peak periods additional crossings may be scheduled.
Whitsun Bank Holiday Monday: Tue-Sun timetable applies

Tickets are refundable only if we have to cancel the trip. Every effort is made to contact you prior to the trip departing if we feel that the conditions are not appropriate for the trip to go ahead. Cancellations are at our discretion and will be subject to tides, forecasts and sea conditions. We will endeavour to offer an alternative trip or the possibility of rescheduling.
